Stan Breckenridge – composer, performer, recording artist, producer, author, and university professor. He has performed internationally and domestically delighting audiences in Western and Eastern Europe, Japan, Hong Kong, Mexico, and many cities throughout the U.S. Stan Breckenridge has appeared with and/or performed for personalities such as Scott Baio, Bobby Blue Bland, Bill Cosby, Five Blind Boys of Alabama, Rosie Grier, Jerry Lewis, Moms Mabley, Greg Morris, Merv Griffin, Martha Reeves (of the Vandellas), Rowan & Martin, David Ruffin (member of the Temptations), Nancy Sinatra, O. C. Smith, The Stylistics, the Gerald Wilson Orchestra, Sam Riddle, The Young Hearts, Avery Schriber, John Travolta, John Wayne and many others. In addition to his current CD release titled Reflections (2009), other CD’s include A Soulful Christmas (2008), This is My Song (2007), Live in Poland (2006), Solo (2003), Meditations (2001), and Expositions (1999).
Stan Breckenridge holds a Ph.D. in Musicology from the prestigious Claremont Graduate University in Claremont, California. In 2005 Dr. Breckenridge was selected as a United States Fulbright Scholar to Poland where he spent half the year lecturing at institutions in Warszawa, Krakow, Lublin, Chelm, Pulawy, and Poznan. He is also on an Advisory Board at Disney Resorts where he is consulted regarding issues concerning African American music, entertainment, and the African American community in general. Dr. Breckenridge is also a participant on the ATEP (Advanced technology Education Park) Development Forum in Irvine,
As a specialist in American music Dr. Breckenridge effectively combines his academic and music performance experiences in presenting engaging lectures at numerous conferences. His most recent presentation titled “African American Music as a Representation of American Identity” was held at The Fryderyk Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw, Poland. This presentation was sponsored by the joint efforts of the U.S. Embassy in Poland and the Music Academy in presenting the Embassy’s ongoing program titled “America Presents” that feature U.S. Fulbright Scholars.
